Success is a decision, right? That’s what you hear countless coaches and leaders in personal development say. But is it as simple as that?
Well, yes and no.
Reducing success to being just a decision that you make is oversimplifying a complex issue for many. For me, getting to that decision was a long journey.
It actually began with a desire to communicate with my spirit guides and a deep frustration that I wasn’t hearing them. That turned into anger because I felt left behind, like I didn’t matter. Then I got angry at myself because I knew that really it was me who was treating myself like my needs didn’t matter. *insert holy shit moment* At that moment I realized that I hadn’t chosen success yet. I was letting failure and fear still be an option, and that’s where my energy was flowing. So that’s the moment I chose to make success my only option.
This happened in about 5 minutes of meditation, which followed some deep tapping work I did the week before. The tapping cleared some limiting beliefs that were creating a fog that kept me from having this breakthrough. But it also took 5 years of ups and downs and a lot of disappointment to get to that place. Without going through everything I had, I could have said “I choose to be successful”, but it would have just been words.
Your affirmations must have true emotion behind them to create change.
You could say my decision to make success non-negotiable took 5 minutes or 5 years - it was kind of both! What will it take for you to make your success non-negotiable? And how can you give yourself more grace on the journey there?
If you’re ready for that breakthrough and need support getting there, the Stuck to Success program may be the right next step for you. Click below to book a free Discovery Session to explore what it would look like to do this work together. xx
